History of Mohan Lal Memorial Institute of Education
Mohan Lal Memorial Institute of Education is a premier Institute in the field of Education. The institution saw the light of the day in the year 2005 with the sole purpose to provide Teacher Education in the rural area. The college is managed by New Gobind Public Welfare Society (Regd.) Amritsar, founded by Dr. R.P. Khullar. The agony of loss of father at a very tender age inspired him i to establish to do something constructive for the society. The management under the chairmanship; of Mr. Prince Khullar is successfully running B.Ed. and D.E1.Ed. courses recognized by National Council of Teacher Education approved by Punjab Government and affiliated to Guru Nanak Dev University. Amritsarand SCERT Chandigarh for the last 12 years. From the session 2008-09 we have been successful in securing another 100 B.Ed. seats, in a short span of time, it has earned a ‘ reputation comparable to any established institution of long standing.
The institution inspires everyone to break free from the city chaos, right into the arms of Mother Nature. Encapsulated with smartly laid out lush green lawns it is spread over a sprawling area of 81 acre. The basic ingredients of any professional institution are the faculty, the infrastructure and facilities in term of classrooms, laboratories and provisions for the workshops, seminars, sports, games and other extra curricular activities including excursion and educational tours. The institution has an excellent infrastructure that is suitable to impart quality teacher education as per the National Council of Teacher Education norms. The classrooms are well ventilated and laboratories adequately equipped. We have a well equipped Science, Psychology, Computer and Language cum Technology Lab with state of the art facilities. A rich library with interne facility is another attraction for students. There is a recreation room; sports room equipped with indoor and outdoor games. A big air conditioned auditorium with seating capacity of 250 students is ready for use from the next session. We have a provision of separate hostel for girls.
It is beyond doubt that only the trained teachers can meet the multifarious challenges & needs of the present generation. It is the prime objective of the college, to provide trained & dedicated teachers to the society.
To attain the above mentioned objective, the college has a well qualified and experienced faculty who excel both in teaching and administrative capabilities. The college has successfully completed ten years with excellent results. The benign management has left no stone unturned to see that all the requisite facilities are provided. Their constant’ encouragement, strong support, loving care and patronage enhances our motivation to make the optimum utilization of our potentialities. It would not be an exaggeration to state that we have performed magnificently and have achieved spectacular success on all fronts.
